(Ripley County, Ind.) – Batesville High School and Oldenburg Academy varsity football teams are getting additional help with the annual Turnover Hunger Program.
Milan High School’s varsity football program is joining the fray to help raise funds for the Weekend Backsack Program in Ripley County elementary schools.
In 2020, Batesville and Oldenburg raised $15,000, which helped serve approximately 175 students each weekend of the 2020-21 school year, following the football season. Students in need were sent home with a backpack full of food to serve six meals over the course of a weekend.
Just like in years past, the Ripley County Community Foundation asks community members to pledge a dollar amount for each turnover forced by Batesville, Oldenburg Academy, or Milan varsity football teams during the 2021 season.
The option to make a one-time donation is also available.
Donations have already started to come in ahead of the 2021 season. To date, over $6,000 has been raised towards the $15,000 goal.
